As a private, nonprofit institution, membership is what drives the Historic US Route 20 Association (known as Association) to success on its mission to preserve and promote the many great sites along Historic US Route 20. As a thank you, Historic US Route 20 members receive a number of valuable benefits mentioned below! We invite you to take part in this journey, and help sustain this important nonprofit organization by becoming a member today. Under the Bylaws of the Historic US Route 20 Association membership is defined as: All individuals or entities who have been accepted for membership by the Board of Directors of the corporation and who are current in the repayment of their dues shall be deemed “active members” of the corporation. Active members shall be accorded full voting rights and other benefits afforded to members of the corporation in good standing. Hereafter, when only “member” or “members” is/are referred to in these bylaws, “active members” and “lifetime members” and “charter members” shall be referred to, and not honorary members. The Board of Directors of the Corporation may also create a sub-class of active members designated “charter members” of the corporation who shall be those individuals or entities would have made a greater contribution to the corporation than standard active members, as defined by the Board of Directors and who shall receive corporation recognition for their efforts as determined by the Board of Directors. Membership in the Corporation shall not be limited to “individuals”, but may also include profit or nonprofit corporations, general or limited partnerships, associations, or other entities. As referred to herein, any non-individual member is generally referred to herein as an “entity”. When applying for membership you may apply for the following which best describes your status: Student / Senior Member - A student or senior member is an individual or partnership, but not an entity, who is actively enrolled at the time of membership application in a school (public, private, college, university, trade, etc) or an individual or partnership who one or more have reached the age of 65 may apply for a membership. The association will take a "good faith" approach to its members determining their status. Membership renewal is due annually from the time of receipt. A student / senior member is granted all the rights as a Twenty member below. Twenty Member - An individual or partnership, but not an entity may apply for a basic membership with the Historic US Route 20 Association. Membership renewal is due annually from the time of receipt. As a Student/Senior/Twenty member, you will be entitled to the following benefits: Access to the Historic Route 20 Card and Passport - Upon receipt of membership dues, you will receive an annual membership card, the "Route 20 Card". This card will be your "proof of membership". Use your card at participating locations along Historic Route 20 in 12 states to receive discounts, services or other benefits. A passport program is being developed and Twenty Members can purchase a passport for 50% off. (when available – late 2017) 10% off your purchase in the Route 20 Store - Purchase any item from our Route 20 store and receive an additional 10% off your total purchase price. Access to Paid Web content - you can access content on our paid website, including maps, geo-location travel pages and content that will detail all aspects of traveling Historic Route 20. Including maps, original routes, points of interest and see participating member locations that at accept the Route 20 Passport as you travel. A subscription to our newsletter: TWENTY - Upon receipt of membership dues, you will receive the quarterly newsletter of the Historic US Route 20 Association "TWENTY". Invitation to the Annual Meeting - You will be cordially invited to attend the Annual Meeting to be held in September. 3365 Member An individual or partnership may apply for a lifetime membership with the Historic US Route 20 Association. As a 3365 member, you will be entitled to all the benefits of a basic Twenty membership plus the following: Lifetime Membership – You will be an active member of the organization for life. Nontransferable. An official Historic US Route 20 T-shirt - You will receive upon receipt of membership an official T-Shirt! Free Travel Guide – Your lifetime membership includes 1 free Historic Route 20 Travel Guide (printed Spring 2019) per membership. Coupons in book will allow for discounts on future guide books for Lifetime Members. Free Passport Book – You will receive the Historic Route 20 Passport Book (when printed) to use along your journey of Historic Route 20. Free Shipping – Any orders placed will be shipped free of charge. (Exception: Signs, large Qty orders and Foreign Countries) |
